coComment: Track Comments on sevenload
For quite some time now, we’ve offered our users the chance to follow what’s going on for all comments made on their photos/videos on the “What’s New?” page.
As a small addition to this (to add a bit more Web 2.0ness to sevenload) we’ve decided to integrate coComment onto sevenload. coComment allows users to track not only their own comments being made, but also those by others (made on other users photos/videos).coComment makes it possible for people to follow various comments made on websites, blogs and forums (even those that are already months old).
For most users, this feature is not something that is an absolute must-have, but we hope that it will prove to be both a handy and welcome tool addition for both bloggers and non-bloggers alike.
How does coComment work on sevenload?
The easiest method of properly using coComment on sevenload is to create a user acocunt on coComment and then install the extension or plugin (for example, for Firefox). But, simply signing up with coComment does not mean that it will automatically work on sevenload, but rather insured that you have access to coComment and also that it is compatible with your internet browser. In order to it to work on sevenload, go to your account settings and under notifications. Under Communications Options you will see the option to use coComment. After selecting yes and saving the changes, you will be able to track comments made on any photos/videos by checking off the “Track this Conversation” button (which is found just below the comment box for the corresponding photo/video). After that, you may look at the overview of all tracked comments on coComment itself.
Conclusion
If you are already using coComment on other blogs and forums should already have an idea of what it should be like on sevenload. If you are not yet familiar with coComment it might help to take a look at their getting started section. Adding coComment is surely a good addition in supporting more Web 2.0 features on sevenload.
sevenload Trailer: Beta Version
As Ibo already mentioned, the sevenload team, in particular Phillip, really put a lot in taking the sevenload Trailer out of the Alpha and putting it into the new, longer Beta Version. The result speaks for itself.

Inserting sevenload Videos in Wikis
Wikis are websites which allow collaborative available information- this information can be added, edited and linked by users directly and therefore updated accordingly. The best known wiki site is without a doubt Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia that offers a wealth on knowledge online.
Starting today it will be possible to add videos hosted on sevenload to wikis. In order to embed videos from sevenload you will to have the Extension Video Flash, which can be obtained in the MediaWiki as a download.
Embedding sevenload videos will be relatively easy with the following code which can be entered in a wiki entry: (this is as soon as the extension in the wiki software has been integrated and activated)
<videoflash type="sevenload">VIDEO-ID</videoflash>The VIDEO-ID can be found in the URL, which can easily be copied from the address bar in the browser – for example, the video-ID from the address http://en.sevenload.com/videos/rXVlk1A/ is rXVlk1A. The first use of this extension known to us can be found in sondala’s weblog (in German).
Sorting Function
Photos and videos can now be sorted within a profile itself. The sorting criteria are: “best rated”, “most commented on” or “most viewed” – the standardized display after the upload date is of course still going to be there.
Likewise, it’s also possible for users to compile a sort of top list of their photos and videos on the corresponding profiles.
Webcuts 2006
In 2000 “Webcuts” was established and used as a term for the international internet film festival. The best films are selected every year by a jury and then presented publicly on the internet.
We are very pleased to announce that WELT.de has selected the sevenload player to present their selection for this year’s Webcut-Auswahl to their readers. A total of 21 videos are available for the winner- and we want to wish all of the people who make these creative films luck for the upcoming Webcuts 2007!
