iApplicate
Currently, there are over 35 thousand iPhone applications available, and totals will continue to grow over the next few years. Wouldn’t you like to know which apps fit a specific need, which apps to avoid, and which ones just flat out rock? This is where iApplicate comes in, a web-based program (and now new show on sevenload!) that reviews and evaluates iPhone app functionality.
The show is intended to inform users, helping them decide which apps are the perfect apps to buy. iApplicate is produced by Oktane Micro Media, a new media company driven by
developing affinity media strategies, video marketing campaigns and engaging digital properties that quench the insatiable thirst of a media-hungy marketplace
We think they rock.
Here’s a little peak at what the guys at Oktane have come up with for the Dane Cook Global application:

New RSS Feeds
This topic might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we felt it was necessary to bring up in the context of enhancing our support of Web 2.0 features- that’s why we decided to integrate this new feature onto sevenload:
As a response to requests from several sevenloaders, we’ve decided to “pimp” the RSS Feeds on sevenload.
Under the section “My sevenload” you’ll find a large selection of general and also personalized RSS Feeds that can provide you with the information you want to have. The adjacent screenshot with its numerous options speaks for itself.
Don’t forget that the RSS Feeds always refer to the current page on sevenload: on a photo page for example only the RSS Feed for the comments of each of the respective photos will be displayed in the central option menu for the RSS Feeds.
Our developers and designers have also incorporated a graphic with the famous RSS icon for every functional box in the lower corner, so that when required the information from the box can also be conveniently viewed in the feed reader– as shown in the screenshot below.
Alongside the RSS Feed we have also integrated an RSS Feed corresponding to the new episodes of the specials on every sevenload channel, e.g. sevenload TV. This makes it possible to compile exactly what you personally want to see on sevenload from the large selection of feeds in combination with the new RSS Feeds.
We would be delighted to include your ideas and wishes in our to-do list– send us an E-mail or make a comment here in the Blog. We will be starting to work hard on developing the features as soon as time allows!
Update: the individual RSS feeds for the Channels will possibly be adjusted afterwards. However, this should pose minimal problems for the users. We’ll keep you updated!
Info Cards for sevenloaders
The time was right at sevenload to make a change in the friends list area. The previously grey friends lists have just been pimped: we are now showing all users’ friends in the form of little info cards!
Of course, we want to mention from the outset here that these are not real info cards in the sense that they do not contain personal information- however, this is how your sevenload friends can more easily see your public information such as: your user name, location, registration date with sevenload, the number of photos you have and additionally, your actual profile photo.
Apropos sevenloaders – per request we are giving you a new URL: the shorter sevenloader.com address. With this URL you can share your “online and offline world” with all your friends who are not yet on sevenload and quickly explain your profile to them. This simple principle functions in the following combination: “username.sevenloader.com” – for example, in my case it would be Sichelputzer.sevenloader.com, which then forwards directly to my profile on sevenload.de. From now on, it’s your choice how you reach someone’s profile, either through this direct link or by reaching it the old way.
