And this one’s really special, because he is officially the first American photographer to have a special!

A little background on John Lore: He hails from the eclectic city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, in the picturesque southwest region of the U.S. Along with photography, John’s artistic proficiencies include graphic design, film editing, and award-winning cinematography. Though formally trained in the art of photography at the University of New Mexico, John infuses his photos with an air of novelty not commonly seen in the art of portraiture. His portfolio includes an extensive collection of actors, models, bands, and family portraits. His preferred approach when working with a new client is to take a chance and see what unfolds.

The theme for John’s first set of photos on this site will capture his interpretation of Woman’s Image and the conundrum of edginess, fashion, charm, and spirit that defines the female character. In this series, he endeavors to portray the reality of his subject while presenting her in an entirely unique manner.

For quite some time now, we’ve offered our users the chance to follow what’s going on for all comments made on their photos/videos on the “What’s New?” page.

As a small addition to this (to add a bit more Web 2.0ness to sevenload) we’ve decided to integrate coComment onto sevenload. coComment allows users to track not only their own comments being made, but also those by others (made on other users photos/videos).coComment makes it possible for people to follow various comments made on websites, blogs and forums (even those that are already months old).

For most users, this feature is not something that is an absolute must-have, but we hope that it will prove to be both a handy and welcome tool addition for both bloggers and non-bloggers alike.

How does coComment work on sevenload?
The easiest method of properly using coComment on sevenload is to create a user acocunt on coComment and then install the extension or plugin (for example, for Firefox). But, simply signing up with coComment does not mean that it will automatically work on sevenload, but rather insured that you have access to coComment and also that it is compatible with your internet browser. In order to it to work on sevenload, go to your account settings and under notifications. Under Communications Options you will see the option to use coComment. After selecting yes and saving the changes, you will be able to track comments made on any photos/videos by checking off the “Track this Conversation” button (which is found just below the comment box for the corresponding photo/video). After that, you may look at the overview of all tracked comments on coComment itself.

Conclusion
If you are already using coComment on other blogs and forums should already have an idea of what it should be like on sevenload. If you are not yet familiar with coComment it might help to take a look at their getting started section. Adding coComment is surely a good addition in supporting more Web 2.0 features on sevenload.

A lot of feedback came back to us from the Community about how we could better implement it and explain it to users- and our development team came up with a way to do searches under the parameters of certain CC licenses.

In addition, we’re planning on adding a feature that will let you add a CC License at the onset of uploading photos and videos. This hopefully will make it easier for you to share/protect your works on sevenload!

If you haven’t heard about Creative Commons yet, this will be your chance to find out more about it!

We’ve been asked several times now how someone can easily access different sizes for a particular photo. You can generally accomplish this by using the “use externally” button for photos (and videos) in order to embed them, but it is especially helpful to see the different embeddable sizes for yourself. In order for you to be able to do this we’ve introduced a new function “all sizes”. Just to get an idea of what the function looks like when you click on “all sizes”, here’s an example of what you will see:

We just had to add a new job title to go along with our new point system- Tagger:

Your profile:
The job consists mostly of online editing. We are looking for someone who is competent, compliant and innovative, can show initiative, and naturally also has experience in searching for and making Tags.

Your tasks:
You will research search terms and create new Tag´s…

We can confidently contradict that this is an “Internship” or at least some sort of “Punishment”. At least for our Users, its simply fun to hit a “high score” and get on the Top User List on sevenload. Ultimately, you’ll get 0.5 points added to your score every day and we all know, whoever has more Tags, will have a higher score. And how would one correctly tag the photo on the side here? Check it out for yourself…

Update: At this point, it’s worth mentioning that this is not really a position being offered at sevenload. Sorry… maybe sometime in the near future!

The issue of getting photos into a correct format (and getting them correctly rotated) is something that anyone interested in photography knows about. The problem is that most times the photo needs to be rotated after it has been uploaded, and until now that has meant that the user has to give permission to have the photo “deleted” from the server and then “re-uploaded” onto sevenload in the correct format. Our hope is that this new feature will solve this problem quick and easy: you can now rotate the image 90° to the left or right, allowing you a much simpler way to manage and edit you photos!

*The feature which allows you to alter the photo’s information (data specs.) will remain unchanged.
