Red Bull Music Academy- Toronto 2007
Toronto: the world’s most talented DJs and music producers from 30 different countries meet up at the 9th Red Bull Music Academy. It brings together DJs and music producers from diverse musical and cultural backgrounds to exchange their ideas about music and their knowledge of how life in the music industry works.
Red Bull invites a variety of accomplished international guests – from industry movers and shakers to pirate radio station operators, from turntablists to sonic theorists – to meet our students and tell their own stories in their own words.
The first Red Bull Music Academy took place in Berlin in 1998. 50 DJ/producers from Germany and Austria were chosen to attend two fortnightly workshops on music history, technology and business. After two years in Berlin, they moved to Dublin, New York, London, Sao Paulo, then to Cape Town, Rome, Seattle, Melbourne and now to Toronto, Canada, increasing the international mix of their students to 35 countries. The purpose of the Academy is to provide a platform for the exchange of musical knowledge and ideas – a familiar atmosphere in which guest lecturers and participants can talk about the experiences and fascinations that make up their musical lives. The participants can also learn a lot from one another, sampling each other’s styles and exchanging new ideas and techniques throughout the two weeks they’re together.
The Academy doesn’t give out any certificates or diplomas, and attending it won’t buy anyone a career in the music industry. But it’s a valuable experience for everyone; sharing in the successes and failures of the other guests and participants leaving them with a new understanding and approach towards music.

BMW-Web.tv on sevenload
Together with automobile manufacturer BMW, sevenload is now branching out into motion pictures. The BMW-Web.tv international video portal is offering nine different categories and reports on topics such as technologies, motor sports, new cars and events.
In the new sevenload Special a small selection of the numerous video contents can also be found in the Car Channel. News from the research and development department and various other subjects from the automobile branch can now be easily accessed at any time on the web.
Appealing to all fans of the company with the famous blue and white logo, the journalistic approach to the videos varies depending on the subject matter. Whether news, reports, coverage, features or documentaries – the sevenload team has been busy developing and implementing BMW-Web.tv. Our managing director Ibrahim Evsan also explains in detail in his Blog why corporate TV and the prevalence of its content are currently important from an entrepreneurial perspective. In the future a production team, which has been especially put together for BMW-Web.tv, will also be looking after the brand portal and updating it with new content in the future. Selected content will, of course, also be presented on the sevenload channel.
