Sehnaz Seker Photographer Special

We’ve got a brand new photography special- photographer Sehnaz Seker will be presenting her photos on sevenload which consist of different themes. The first theme starts with the theme “Nature/Culture“:

'Sehnaz Sekar' von greenbean

Wherever you can catch a glimpse of nature there is always a little piece of culture lurking, especially when humans are involved. Be it a much used forest trail or a meadow of wildflowers where even just a single flower is picked. For me, nature is the collective whole of everything that is untouched by humans, however, today it seems that most everything has been affected by humans in some way and that \”a pure\” nature no longer really exists. I define culture as, in the greater sense, the whole of works, achievements and ways of life of a folk or people.

The current photo series should evoke feelings and thoughts about just how much impact man has on mother nature. Sehnaz is planning on making regular installements of new photos/new themes on sevenload- we’re really excited to see more of her work!

Tip: Sorting Search Results

We’ve made our search results even better! You can now customize the way search results are displayed (for example “sevenload“). This includes all of the following criteria:

'Sort Search Results' from greenbean

  • upload date
  • best rated
  • most comments
  • most views

In order to change the way search results are displyed, simply cllick on the corresponding “Sort” button – as shown in the above screenshot. We feel that this feature allows users (in particular our “power users”) to conduct searches more easily. Have fun hunting!

sevenload Trailer: Beta Version

As Ibo already mentioned, the sevenload team, in particular Phillip, really put a lot in taking the sevenload Trailer out of the Alpha and putting it into the new, longer Beta Version. The result speaks for itself.

Important Info: Server Move

We will be expanding our main server by adding an additional network site- overnight on Wednesday night. This means that during this time period (11pm on 04.11.2007 to 2am on 04.12.2007) sevenload will not be fully functional as some internal routing and load-balancing change-overs are necessary.

We’d like the chance right now to thank you for your understanding in this matter- which of course after our little move will leave sevenload with its usual network capacity (and then some!). Should any of you have any questions or concerns about this server move, please contact our Support.

Update: The move was successful and as of 2:20am sevenload has been back up and running withough any issues. Thanks for your patience.

New: Photographer Specials

photographer_specials.JPG sevenload’s finally showing off its other side: The photos on sevenload are being put in the spotlight with the videos. In the future, we will be honoring particular photographers with a special Photographer Special.

We’d like to take the opportunity now to thank sevenload’s photo enthusiasts and in particular the photographers themselves. The first Photographer Special for this series is going to be AtticCinema. For his mostly darkened photos, AtticCinema only needs a amateur camera, a couple pieces of glass, a little creativity and his eagle eyes! His photos have they own distinctive style- check them out.

New sevenload Specials Page

We’ve decided to completely re-do the overview page for the sevenload Specials. As you can see below, the “alpha” version depicts the direction in which we are heading. The team has put in a lot of work for this.

'Neue Alpha Version der Spezial Seite' von Ibo

The old look has been totally changed for the Special page re-design in order to give you a better overview of the Specials. The new colors which were selected are very strong- it should be stand out that not only the Specials themselves have more contents, but that through the users there is a greater amount of topics available. We are also making plans to only have seven channels, but rather to create a larger number of catagories for our Specials and shows. Of course, this is all still an “alpha” version (as already mentioned), but it gives you an idea of what’s to come.

We will also be enhancing the adminstration section for the Specials for the internet stars and special creators- but this is currently only in development.

sevenload Firefox Extensions

For those of you that use Firefox- Heiko Hebig has written an extra plugin which allows users to search for photos and videos directly on sevenload via the Firefox integrated search functions. Thanks Heiko!

It is currently possible to distinguish a search between photos or videos when making a search. It is also worth mentioning that many of the search functions via the plugins are available in German and English.
