Inserting sevenload Videos in Wikis
Wikis are websites which allow collaborative available information- this information can be added, edited and linked by users directly and therefore updated accordingly. The best known wiki site is without a doubt Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia that offers a wealth on knowledge online.
Starting today it will be possible to add videos hosted on sevenload to wikis. In order to embed videos from sevenload you will to have the Extension Video Flash, which can be obtained in the MediaWiki as a download.
Embedding sevenload videos will be relatively easy with the following code which can be entered in a wiki entry: (this is as soon as the extension in the wiki software has been integrated and activated)
<videoflash type="sevenload">VIDEO-ID</videoflash>The VIDEO-ID can be found in the URL, which can easily be copied from the address bar in the browser – for example, the video-ID from the address http://en.sevenload.com/videos/rXVlk1A/ is rXVlk1A. The first use of this extension known to us can be found in sondala’s weblog (in German).

Sagt mal, Mike, könnt ihr Gedanken lesen? Gerade vor zwei Wochen hab ich in ein Wikiprojekt bei sevenload-gehostete Videos verlinkt und genau diese Funktion vermisst.

@Markus – Gedanken lesen? Nein, noch können wir das nicht… aber es freut doch, wenn Du jetzt über diese Extension keine Code-Probleme mehr hast.
Den Wikipedia Artikel hat sevenload ja leider verloren, jedoch gibt es die Möglichkeit
eine eigene wiki-Mappe zu erstellen.
Ich kenne mich in Köln nicht aus, jedoch war ich mal so frei, ein sevenload place zu adden.
Wenn er nicht stimmen sollte, einfach löschen und neu erstellen.
Bilder lassen sich hochladen, Videos (noch) nicht.

Im Übrigen wurde die VideoID (als Beispiel) im Mediawiki nochmal angepasst und zeigt jetzt zu etwas schönerem.
Da sieht mal wieder die Flexibilität von Media-Wiki, man muss nicht immer alles Neu erfinden.
Das wäre mühsam und brotlose Mühe, ausser man unterscheidet sich dann dadurch beträchtlich.
hätte da noch eine anregung:
zwar ist die standbild funktion mit 12 auswählbaren bildern eine tolle sache, aber manchmal würde man gerne eine ganz bestimmte szene, oder gar ein eigenes “plakat” als standild verwenden. vielleicht kann das ja mal in die “wunschliste” aufgenommen werden
