sevenload Dives into TV
At the beginning of the month we talked about how the Deutsche Welle camera team was going to be paying us a visit- and now you can find an exclusive clip of the recording here (original in German). If you prefer, you can watch the English version too.
One Innovative Family
Tonight, we just felt like mentioning again that our Community functions like a big family. We’re fond of one another, we communicate with each other and we share things together. Having a virtual life has become part of everyday life for most people. The innovative power behind our users can be seen in this fantastic example:
Thanks to our user Allerweltsteufelchen – we’ve missed you!
Video Uploads up to 200 MB on sevenload
Higher, faster, farther- our Community is sending us the message that they want to be able to upload longer and better quality high-quality videos onto sevenload.com.
That’s why we are going to raise our allowable upload volume from 120 MB to 200 MB and are thereby increasing the prevalence of our video formats by 66%! Enjoy the new upload volume!
Just as a side note: only the video upload size has been increased and not that for photos. If you are uploading photos the highest allowable amount is going to remain 120 MB.
Social Bookmarking Links
We’ve finally integrated the much anticipated links to a total of four Social Bookmarking providers. Just like on various other websites, you can manage your Bookmarks via the internet without having to be dependant on a browser.
At sevenload.com you can now find a small group of buttons (graphics) under the ratings of each photo and video, and by clicking on one of the buttons you can select your favorite Social Bookmarking provider- there’s surely something there for everyone.
RSS Help
The day is lazily coming to an end and we’re still here hard at work. But it’s no secret- we like working on the sevenload site.
And as of last night our official tutorial for our RSS Feeds is finally online and can be found under sevenload Help – RSS. Even though it’s only a minute detail, we said we’d deliver… and a promise is a promise.
Flash Player Branding
Bertram Gugel already got a little taste of what the new sevenload flash player is going to be like with our upcoming player configurator. Because the announcement of this player’s development is not something that we just want to throw around, we’ve transfigured the flash player for the guys atEdelman Deutschland. You can see the results (their reactions) at Edelman’s newest corporate Blog “PR 2.0“.
We’ll be reporting about the professionally applicable flash player in detail soon. For further questions about this system contact our sales and marketing at sales@sevenload.com.
A Real Community Feeling
We just keep getting unbelievably cool stuff from sevenload’s Community: our users and in particular our team was really excited about this photo from Conni so of course we had to Blog about it! Thanks Conni, for your truly tasty (and quite cookie-tacular) input!
Report: Stars on the Internet
Marcello Jansen is doing a report for Deutsche Welle about the subject “Famous through the Internet“. The focus of the report is about upcoming internet stars – and of course, our own Showmaster 2.0 Rob Vegas and the actors from WG-Mobelithe from Berlin get some of the spotlight on sevenload. In order to get a better understanding of this topic and also the technology behind it, Marcello came by for a visit this afternoon with his camera team.

This whole multi media thing is certainly a hot topic of discussion right now for theses video protagonists, but they’re not alone- sevenload also seems to be getting a lot of attention from it.

So sit tight- in two weeks the show is going to be aired on Deutschen Welle international!
The Technology behind sevenload
Even on a day off (national “bridge day” when we don’t have to work) between the weekend and Germany’s Unification Day (October 3) we were working diligently. We had a little visit last Monday from Björn Schotte, Chief Editor of PHP Magazins and a board member of Mayflower GmbH. This of course gives us a great reason to chat with Björn about the technology behind sevenload.
Our Chief Software Architect Thomas Bachem gave answers to the video interview, which is the start for an upcoming interview series with Björn. We want to wish Björn the best of luck with his new IT video series and thank him for having us be a part of the first series!
